News: Senran Kagura Producer Talks Overseas

Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson producer Kenichiro Takaki recently talked to Inside Games.
During the interview, Inside Games asked the producer to share his thoughts on the reaction from foreign fans.

“They’re so passionate, and it always surprises me,” exclaims Takaki. “People from other countries who purchase the game would often take a picture after making their purchase and line it up next to their country’s flag saying ‘check this out’ and then sending it to me.”
“At first, I thought of it as a specialised product for Japan. I didn’t even think about releasing it outside of Japan. And now, it has expanded across Asia, North America, and Europe, and I’m very grateful.”

“Everyone must like boobs. Boobs go beyond words,” Takaki says with a laugh.

Inside Games adds that they’re looking forward to seeing further developments in foreign countries.

“I’d really like things to expand to where we can narrow the gap between the releases in Japan and the rest of the world, as much as possible.”

  1. That would be great if they could minimize the timeframe between releases in multiple regions.

  3. I wouldnt worry about it, in fact Im confident well get it localised across the west. The only real question is will it be in physical format.

  4. True, true. What do you mean by "physical format", if you don't mind me asking?

  5. Physical copies, Burst came out in Europe in cartridge form but not in America. At the same to North Americans is getting physical copies of the Vita game but not Europe. Marvelous needs to be more consistent with their regions and fan bases otherwise everyone will have to keep on guessing.

  6. Ah right! I prefer physical copies to be honest. I like the idea of having a box and cartridge rather than a download. Speaking of which, I know that Shinobi Versus is physical form but what about Bon Appetite? It looks like a nice alternative to the usual SK style, so I'm considering getting it, should I get ever get a Vita~

  7. Senran Kagura Bon App?tit has been a digital only release even in Japan. So that one you buy out of fandom and if you want to challenge yourself in a rythm game. Honestly I think its going to be the most difficult game I will have played in years, remember concentration is the key to victory ;)
