Review: Don't Starve (PS4 / XBOX ONE)

Don't Forget to Pack a Sandwich

XBOX ONE Review provided by Klei Games

Don't Starve made it's console debut on the PS4 in early 2014 with a Vita version released a little later.  Now it has been released on Xbox One and unlike the PS4 version this one comes bundled with Reign of Giants DLC as standard.  The games are identical in all ways and my views have not changed.  The only thing that has changed is my play style as I am finding it a lot easier to survive.  I do feel that sometimes you will just spend a lot of your time just searching for that one item but the name of the gane is to survive and if that item is the difference between life and death, then it is worth it.

Anyway, instead of writing a full review, I have republished my original PS4 review.  Please enjoy and do not wander to far into the dark - you never know what might attack back

Review: I Am Bread (PS4)

A Matter of Loaf or Death

I Am Bread is the follow up to Bossa Game’s Surgeon Simulator.  Just like its predecessor, I Am Bread gained a lot of attention through comedic Youtube videos and now it has made its way to the PS4.  Yes folks, this is another Youtube Bait game.

Review: Senran Kagura 2 Deep Crimson (3DS)

Oppai! Oppai!! Oppai!!!

Last year we seen a release that seemed to infuriate some members of the gaming press due to the games jiggling boobs - Senran Kagura: Burst. It was a surprising release for the 3DS for sure, but for everyone else that gave it a try, the game was a fairly enjoyable brawler with a fun cast & frantic combat. The game must have done a nice bit of business for XSEED & Marvelous as we now have the games sequel, Senran Kagura 2 Deep Crimson, landing on our shores. Interested in reading a review that discusses the game & not the jiggling? Then read on!

Review: Onechanbara ZII Chaos (Ps4)

Onechanbara, for those not familiar with the series can be summed up with it's Wii release title "Bikini Zombie Slayers". It's B Movie in game form, possessing a cult status with it's fans the series has seen a somewhat spotty release in it's history. Fortunately XSEED & NIS have brought over the latest in the series Onechanbara ZII Chaos. The name is just a little random but perfectly suited for the nature of this series.

Review: Goat Simulator (PS4)

When does a Joke go too far?

Review Supplied by Double11

This has to be the most pointless and most stupid game I have yet to play. I have played a lot of indie games but this one just takes the biscuit! I have managed to avoid this game through all its ports but I finally jumped on board the band wagon when it was released on the PS4. This game is a prime example of Youtube bait. A game (dare I say) that has one purpose in life, to create entertaining videos for viewers to watch. It does that very very well but as a game, well it is just pathetic.

Review: Abyss Odyssey: Extended Dream Edition (PS4)

Tales from the Abyss

Earlier last year ACE Team & ATLUS put out the genre blending title Abyss Odyssey on the X Box 360, this was reviewed by our Editor Geoff. Atlus & ACE have now re-released this title with tweaks & extras for the Playstation 4 under the title Extended Dream Edition. Usually what the site would do in this case is the new reviewer would include his thoughts under the original review, in this case i'll be quoting from Geoff's original review and putting my words below them.
So are the changes enough to entice you into the Abyss or is this another pot hole in the street to avoid?

Review: Supercharged Robot VULKAISER (PC)

Astroport, a name seemingly synonymous with the doujin shmup scene, has had yet another shooter head to Steam of late via Nyu Media. What sets Supercharged Robot VULKAISER apart from the studios previous releases is the games style, a nostalgic familiarity for those fond of anime’s of yesteryear. Does this nostalgia help blast the game to victory, or does it weigh the game down and prevent it soaring? Lets take a look....

Import Review: Dragon Quest Heroes (Ps4)

Through the fire & the flames!

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World's Tree & The Blight Below (breathe) is the new collaboration between Omega Force of Dynasty Warriors fame and the little known company Square Enix. Overseen by long time Yuji Horii, Omega Force are once again trying to capture the lightning in a bottle they had with the brilliant Hyrule Warriors only this time using JRPG juggernaut Dragon Quest.

How will the tried and tested Musou formula suit the intricate and often mysterious world of Dragon Quest?, Will it manage to strike a balance between action and adventure & finally will it bring in a new set of fans for both?

Review: Broken Age (PS4/PSVita)

Make like a train and chew, chew, chew!

Review Supplied by DoubleFine

Point and Click adventure games are pretty much a corner stone of my childhood.  They hold a very special place in my heart.  I remember one summer when I was much younger than now, playing through all the SCUMM games available at the time.  Ranging from Day of The Tentacle through to Monkey Island.  I loved them and could not get enough of them but they one day then pretty much all disappeared.

Review - Lord of Magna Maiden Heaven 3DS

Maiden Heaven is a place on Earth

Lords of Magna Maiden Heaven is the latest title developed by the minds at Marvelous, featuring a dream team of staff from the smash hits Rune Factory and Harvest Moon this latest title digs it's claws into a more Strategy RPG style of gameplay. Will the game be the bountiful harvest it should be or will it just be an obscure rune on the EShop?
