News: Latest Hironobu Sakaguchi Project Announced

A Famitsu interview with Hironobu Sakaguchi which reveals his latest project.
Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi’s next game is, as rumoured, Terra Battle for mobile/smartphones. An interview with Famitsu looks at what Terra Battle is all about.
  • Terra Battle will launch as a free-to-play title in September. You’ll be able to play up until the scenario’s end with no charges.
  • The game features several ranks of magic, including “Mega,” “Giga,” and “Terra.” which increase in magnitude & power.
  • Nobuo Uematsu is composing the game’s music, with about 20 songs penned so far.
  • Sakaguchi said that while Terra Battle for smartphones is a starting point, he would eventually like to arrive at a console version, as well.
Sakaguchi will show off the new smartphone RPG for the first time during a panel at the Japan Expo in France tomorrow.

  2. Thats a good question. From whats been said so far, it doesn't seem like theres anything that would make money. I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up like the Kemco Jrpg's on mobiles that feature purchase-able items to make the game easier during difficulty spikes. Then again, you have to pay for most of Kemco's RPG's....

  3. Thats what bothers me, visual items are okay to have but I really don't like the idea of pay 2 win or paying to use extra characters ect,
