E3 2015: Microsoft Roundup

After the excellent performance from Bethesda earlier today it is now Microsoft's turn to show off what they have in store for the next 12 months.  They have promised they will be focusing heavily on exclusive game this year and boy did they deliver them with a bang.
Lets get started in breaking down what was shown off.  There was so much shown off today that I will just list all the games shown off, give you a few new features announced (if any) and hopefully a trailer.  Enjoy.

The Games

Halo 5 Guardians [Exclusive]

Features drop-in/drop-out co-op and multiplayer features environments 4x the size of any Halo game previously.  It will support up to 24 players online

Fallout 4

Fallout 3 will come included and PC MODS will be usable on the XBOX One

The Division (Awaiting Trailer)

Rainbow Six Siege

This like Fallout 4 will come bundled with Xbox 360 titles (Rainbow Six Vegas and Vegas 2)

Rise of The Tombraider [Exclusive]

Gears of War Ultimate Edition 1080p/60fps [Exclusive] - with the Multiplayer Beta starting today (No Trailer)

Gears 4 [Exclusive]

Forza 6 [Exclusive]

Fable Legends [Exclusive] (Awaiting Trailer)

recore [Exclusive] (Awaiting Trailer)

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2

Dark Souls 3

Rare 30 Game Collection [Exclusive] (Awaiting Trailer)

Sea of Thieves [Exclusive RARE Title]

Plenty of indie games heading to the Xbox thanks to the ID@Xbox Service.  Out of all the ones shown I really liked the look of CupHead.  The art style is amazing.

The New Features

-Backwards Compatabilty.

This is a big thing.  Sony thought they had the upper hand with their streaming service but Xbox One can now play Xbox 360 games natively.  All ready owned digital titles will appear in your library automatically and disc games will be downloaded upon putting them in the system.  All DVR features work whilst playing Xbox 360 games. [Coming Holiday 2015]

-Xbox Elite Wireless Controller

Features extra triggers, more accurate triggers, switchable analogue sticks, button remapping, paddle remapping, max/min values for triggers. Works with Windows 10 and Xbox One.

-Game Preview Program

I am not sure where I stand with this as I have heard a lot of horror stories from the Steam Early Access but Microsoft have insured there will be more control of how they operate.  First titles to be in clued are The Long Dark, Shelter, Elite: Dangerous & DayZ

-Virtual Reality

Xbox One games all playable on Oculus via Windows 10 streaming.
Holo Lense was shown off in January as a piece of tech for every day use but today they showed off how it could be used in gaming - Minecraft was the guinea pig for this experiment and I must say it does look great but honestly it takes the fun out of the game.

Microsoft stated that Xbox One has the greatest line up of games this year and I must agree.  It is looking very good for them.  Out of everything though I believe the backwards compatibility is the winner here but thinking about it how often would you actually use it?  I have a PS3 sitting next to my PS4 with hundreds of hours of games available but yet I always go towards my PS4.  With them being on your current gen console sway you to play them more?  Maybe - who knows.  Only time will time.
